Hello, I am Fae, a self-proclaimed ‘World Citizen’, author and publisher of Fae’s Twist & Tango, a magazine website of my stories and recipes.
I was born in Iran and my family moved to Japan when I was five. My academic education was in English and Japanese at an international school. Having spoken Farsi, Japanese and English at home, I grew up with three ‘mother tongues’. Not only did I become proficient in languages but gained a wealth of multiple cultural education through interactions with schoolmates representing every corner of the world.
I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area (California, USA) to attend university and remained ever since. I earned degrees in Business Administration and Computer Sciences. I worked for high-tech companies in Silicon Valley for 25 years, as a corporate executive in finance, sales and marketing, before my early retirement.
My long-time goal, publishing cookbooks, was the inspiration for becoming a food blogger. I passionately write about food and its cultural origins, while creating, developing and writing recipes that can be followed by all levels and ages of home-cooks. This magazine is more recipe focused than food-styling and photography display. My recipes are not stagnant. Every time I learn something new or find a better method, the recipe is revised to reflect the ‘twist’. This is the beauty of on-line recipes, they are always progressing!
You will learn more about me through my stories, articles about world cultures, travel, and recipes with twists! And, where does the ‘tango’ come from? I passionately love and dance Argentine Tango. It is only natural to incorporate the word ‘tango’ when I’m using the word ‘twist’!
Welcome to Fae’s Twist & Tango !
