Eighty kilometers/50 miles south of Sicily, lies an island, Malta (pop. 453K), a European country in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, where the sun shines every day and brings out the best flavors in everything, and food/produce is abundant. Malta is blessed with natural beauty and an elegant, talented woman, Lea Hogg, who keeps foodies and inquisitive minds informed, not only in Europe but worldwide.
Having lived away from Malta most of her life, Lea graduated from culinary school, and worked at a number of 5 star hotels. Lea Hogg, whom some of you know from her blog Good Food Every Day, has made Malta her home. She is a food columnist and feature editor, specializing in food and cooking of the Mediterranean Region. She writes daily for l-Orizzont and for The Malta Independent on Saturdays. Lea also features ‘A note from the heart of the Mediterranean’ every Sunday on [di-ve] Content Matters , on-line-news. She is a regular contributor to Air Malta’s in-flight magazine and creates new recipes and writes for Brilliant Baking (UK) Magazine, as well as hosting the weekly food segment of a popular daytime show on Malta’s One TV.
Lea is currently working on a project related to sustainable agriculture and the transparency of the food-chain of local ingredients and produce. Her work has recently been featured in the Irish Times.
U.S. Ambassador HE Ms. Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley welcomed Lea Hogg to her official residence for Thanksgiving 2013.

Congratulations Fae on the magazine spread, it’s wonderful. I also love Lea’s blog. I love Malta, lived there sort of on and off when I was in Europe, had a home in Birzebbuga, wow, bringing back lots of memories.

Congratulations!!! My granddaughter’s family is from Malta. Hopefully, she can someday visit and experience how lovely it is and how wonderful the food and people are from there.
I have not been to Malta yet, but I would love to. I’m sure your granddaughter would visit someday soon.
