Urayamashii! This is my absolute favorite place in all of Japan. I’ve been there countless times, but haven’t been in the past three or four years… Thank you for this natsukashii post! :)

Dou’itashimashte! It truly is a beautiful place. Ending the day spending the night at a ryokan is special too!

Definitely! I’ve only stayed in a ryokan on Miyajima once, but it was so serene and wonderful. (And it included a delicious sashimi-ful meal, like yours!)
I especially loved that so many of the island’s ryokan guests (mostly older Japanese couples, it seemed) went outside for evening walks wearing their yukata around sunset, after all of the day-trip visitors to the island had gone home.
