Revisions to ‘Look, I made it!’ Feature

When I read about ‘Look, I made it!’ in the morning, I thought ‘I want to be the first one’… So, after going through Fae’s recipes again, I decided to make the ‘Baklava Cake’ but with a ‘twist & tango’, I baked it as Baklava Cupcakes. ~~ Tea With Erika
Background: ‘Look, I made it!’ is a feature in which you would make one of Fae’s recipe and it gets featured on Fae’s Twist & Tango’s Blog and Facebook.
Since start of the feature on May 15, 2013, with pleasure, I’ve had 11 participants, plus I made three of your recipes. Beginning in 2014, I’d like to make a new revisions to the feature:
♪ There will be no ‘Look, I made it!’ post generated on Fae’s Twist & Tango anymore.
♪ However, adding a thumbnail photo of your creation (with links to your blog, if any) on the related Fae’s post will continue!
♪ I am adding a photo-album on my Facebook named ‘Look, I made it!’, to add photos of your Fae’s recipe creation (with links to your blog, if any), which will also show-up on FB ’Timeline’ when added.
♪ You do not need to generate a post to participate. All I need is one photo e-mailed to me (or if you have generated a post, I’ll take it from there with your permission).
♪ You do not need to be a blogger to participate! Just e-mail your photo to my Facebook ’Message’ with your name and a very brief one-liner about it.

Retiring Blog Award Queen
I am grateful for having received over 70 awards over the 20-month-period of Fae’s Twist & Tango. And, with pleasure, I have paid-forward every one of the awards I received, at times, with more than the number of nominations I was allowed. During this period,
I nominated 253 blogs in 2012 and 516 blogs in 2013 (some, multiple times!). My guesstimate is, depending on the award received, only 5~7% participated in paying-it-forward. Still, there were enough awards passed around, and some even found their way back to me again!
I have received more than my share of blog awards, almost every award under the sky. With your blessings I have decided to retire from this process. My request is, please do not nominate me anymore. And, should there be any that still find their way to my door, I will treat them with respect, but only acknowledge the nominators on my ‘Awards’ page.
♪ Nonetheless, I encourage and entrust the paying-forward of the awards to the newer bloggers, until they retire the process and pass it on to their newer bloggers. *\(^o^)/*

Food/Facebook for Thought
For those of us who desire to eventually turn our blogs into a revenue making effort, I believe we need to build the number of our Facebook-Liked-followers.
When your blog is switched to a revenue making endeavor, you lose more than some of your
WordPress-followers. To build the number of visitors to your blog, increasing your
Facebook-Liked-followers & blog-email- followers is just as important as increasing your
WordPress-followers. One way to do this is to encourage your WordPress-followers to join Facebook and ”Like/follow’ your site and/or to sign up for ‘via email follow/notification’ (on the blog).
Even more success is achieved by the importance of reciprocation!

I’ve probably only paid-forward 1 in 10 of the awards I’ve been nominated for. After awhile, it becomes challenging to write award posts – answering all the questions takes so much time! We are in total agreement about the awards process, Fae. They’re wonderful and an honor to receive but they can be time consuming. I’ve just “liked” you on FB. Here’s hoping 2014 is a good year for us all.

Thank you, Mimi, for the encouraging comment. When I started blogging, I had no clue about the community building part of it. I quickly learned that and a process which I found very rewarding. I think I have paid my respect/dues and may now adjust the ratio of my activities. I have so many recipes up my sleeves… your quote, “So much food. So little time.”… also want to challenge new methods, techniques and add more useful features on my website. The more I learn, I am astonished that there is so much more to learn. And, I have learned a lot from you, Chef Mimi!

Fae, thanks for sharing the updates! Really like the thoughts – and I can totally understand you are “retiring” from the award – wow, over 70 awards???? Congratulations! All speaks for your fantastic blog. But I understand they are really time-consuming and I can imagine many found the way back to you. Well, I was happy to still having been able to pass one of the awards to you, but I want to let you know for the future, how much I admire your engagement and what you are doing for the blogger community!

Interesting thoughts on facebook. I find it really hard to grow likes there. Let’s stay in touch about this. Also, what I noticed is that facebook has built in some strange algorithm that results in not all likers seeing the posts, sometimes my reach is super low, only 10% of the likers see it and only those that engage regularly will keep seeing the posts. So it’s important we like each others posts and stay engaged! You have my support!!

Yes Suzanne, I really enjoy it too. I like to be of support as much as I am able to, and have some fun collaborating together. As we discussed, so much to do and not enough time. Of course compared to you, I am a retired person with not much of a responsibilities now (I paid my dues already)
I like to focus more on my cooking and introduce exotic, unique, interesting and tasty dishes. I also like to challenge in baking breads, using ingredients I have not used before and expand my blog with more features. Already, I am excited for that. 
You have obviously reached a mile-stone with your blog. Congratulations! I look forward to continuing to follow your blog, and recommend it to others.
