For the next few days, there will be no access to Fae’s Twist & Tango through the domain → fae-magazine.com.
However, temporarily, it can be accessed through → faestwistandtango.wordpress.com
Although, the blog will continue to be powered by WordPress.com, of whom I am grateful for enabling me to
create Fae’s Twist & Tango… to give me flexibility in blogging design, format and multitude of opportunities, transitioning to a new milestone, the blog is being migrated to Bluehost, a self-hosting provider.
To continuously be connected, receive new post notifications and other sharing of information, one sure way is
by “Liking” Fae’s Twist & Tango on → Facebook.

Congratulations, Fae! I got myself a self-hosted domain, too! Actually purchased it a couple of months ago, but since I didn’t want to pay for any other extra services, I only got it up and running just a couple of weeks ago. Even now it’s still not completely functional. I should have done what you did and leave it to the expert!

At this point, it is exact mirror image of my faestwistandtango.wordpress.com. I have 14 days to review everything for any technical tweaking needed by the website transfer team. 182 posts, 14+ pages and about 1300 media images have been migrated, which I need to review. Now, innovation is in order to make changes and have real fun with it. Also, I have every intention of picking add banners which will make the site self-financing.
– It is all very exciting, and yet, very intimidating for me. This is the very first comment I am responding to, from my self-hosting blog, which completed migrating 3.5 hours ago.
– I wanted to switch in January, but for unforeseeable, possible headaches, I waited to switch until after our Naw-Ruz collaboration. Meanwhile, since we last spoke of this subject (mid Dec), to focus on recipes and related stories theme, what my readers really enjoy and visit repeatedly for, I deleted over 90 blog award related posts & pages plus 75 travel & personal stories, which also included 2000+ media photos (other than the blog awards, I kept copies of all). Now, that’s house cleaning!
I have a hard time deleting anything! So at the moment I have both sites running. I feel very attached to TheNoviceGardener somehow. It’s an old friend
I decided to just start fresh with the new site and see how it goes. It’ll be mostly for Fiesta Friday and recipes. TheNoviceGardener will continue as a garden journal of sorts. I’ve learned so much already in the couple of weeks of self-hosting. It’s pretty exciting! I talked to both Bluehost and InMotion before making my choice. In the end, I went with InMotion. Probably they’re all the same. I haven’t decided if I want to have ads on the site, will have to talk to you once you have yours up and running. Congrats again, Fae! XOXO

I know… I’ve checked the new address… As you notice I did the migration a couple of weeks ago… thank God, someone did it for me… otherwise I would have stopped in the middle of the process!
I did not even attempt. I paid for an additional service fee for Bluehost to do the migration.
I’m in a queue of bloggers waiting to be migrated. I had to transfer my domain name to sign up for the migration. They told me it will be done in 5 days, but it is 7 days already. Hopefully, within this week. Meanwhile, I am cooking and writing recipes.

Actually, since wordpress.com is free and it is difficult to coral cats. You might keep your wordpress site alive but just hide from viewing all your recipe posts except for one simple and easy page that says that you have moved and here is your new url. Thats what I did and it helped a lot. I still use my wordpress reader to keep in touch with others and sometimes have to use my wordpress login for those bloggers that have not opened up their comments for all… just my 2 cents but keep asking others how they do it as you might find a better way. Congratulations Fae!!! You have the courage to do what I wanted to do for years now. I love wordpress (except their Editor program) I use Windows Live Writer for my posts. However I have wanted to do self hosting for years and then heard everyone else tell Gray Hair Stories. I will have to see how it goes for you.

I will be more than happy to see how things go with you and when all is completed and you get your bearings back together will love to find out what you found out and how it was to execute (believe me Fae, you are not talking with a tech savvy, computer guru or geek) this is about what I know ON/OFF, ON/OFF wow it works most of the time!
