Hello Fae,
I was in Tokyo on a 6-month period in 2007-2008. At that time, I did not have camera, thus did not take much photos (each time going out to discover the city, my friend used and shared his compact camera with me).
Tam and I really admire Japan. It’s about the very high responsibility of Japanese people. It’s about how the old men and women joyfully hike the mountains. It’s about the fresh and delicious food. It’s about the flowers, the landscapes. And especially it’s everything about the Japanese CULTURE.
Yes, we plan to visit Japan, maybe next 2 years: in Tokyo, Takayama, Shirakaga, Osaka, and Kyoto… That time, for sure we’ll have more photos to share.

Urayamashii! This is my absolute favorite place in all of Japan. I’ve been there countless times, but haven’t been in the past three or four years… Thank you for this natsukashii post!
Dou’itashimashte! It truly is a beautiful place. Ending the day spending the night at a ryokan is special too!
Definitely! I’ve only stayed in a ryokan on Miyajima once, but it was so serene and wonderful. (And it included a delicious sashimi-ful meal, like yours!)
I especially loved that so many of the island’s ryokan guests (mostly older Japanese couples, it seemed) went outside for evening walks wearing their yukata around sunset, after all of the day-trip visitors to the island had gone home.
